Day 1: Istanbul Airport – Catania
We will meet our valued guests at 05:00 in front of Turkish Airlines international departures check-in counters F (counters 1–27), entering through Gate 3 at Istanbul Airport. We will depart for Catania on Turkish Airlines flight TK1393 at 06:55. Arrival in Catania at 08:25 local time. With our vehicle waiting for us, we head to Mount Etna. As we proceed toward Etna, we will have the opportunity to take magnificent photos of Mount Etna, whose vegetation and scenery embrace us with their beauty. While ascending Europe’s highest active volcano, we will see the Silvestri Crater at an altitude of 1,800 meters along the way. Don’t forget to take some of the smoking volcanic rocks as souvenirs! Afterwards, we continue our tour amidst many beautiful landscapes formed by the lava of Mount Etna, where we can take photos. From there, we travel to Siracusa. In Siracusa, the city where the famous mathematician Archimedes lived, the Fountain of Arethusa, the Cathedral, Diana Fountain, and the Temple of Apollo are among the places to be seen. After the tour, we head to our hotel, check in, and have free time. Overnight at our hotel.
Day 2: Savoca – Taormina – Giardini Naxos – Catania
After breakfast, we begin our full-day excursion at the time previously announced by our guide. On our Savoca, Taormina, and Giardini Naxos tour, we will see the places where the world-famous film The Godfather was shot. Then Bar Vitelli and San Michele Church are among the places to be seen. After passing through film-like streets, we head to Taormina, the pearl of the Ionian Sea and one of Sicily’s most beautiful coastal towns. With its incomparable scenery, its location at the foot of Mount Tauro, its streets, and souvenir shops, after visiting this charming town, we continue to Giardini Naxos, famous for its colorful streets and volcanic beach. In this cultural mosaic, first settled by the Greeks in the 6th century BC and later inhabited by Phoenicians and Romans, you can capture unforgettable shots. After the visit, we return to our hotel.
Day 3: Catania – Cefalù – Palermo
After breakfast, we complete our check-out procedures and head to the center of Catania. On our panoramic city tour, the Duomo Cathedral, Fontana dell’Elefante, Republic Square (Piazza Repubblica), and Etna Street are among the places to be seen. Then we arrive in Cefalù. In this charming fishing town on the Tyrrhenian Sea coast, we will enjoy pleasant time among the 12th-century historic cathedral, Fishermen’s Gate, and its authentic streets. After the visit, we arrive at our hotel in Palermo.
Day 4: Monreale – Palermo
After breakfast, we depart from the hotel for our Monreale tour. We visit Monreale Cathedral, the most important example of Byzantine architecture in Sicily. With its 6,500 m² of glass mosaics, the cathedral is considered one of the masterpieces of Byzantine art and also one of the finest examples of Norman-period art. Afterwards, we return to the center of Palermo. Piazza Politeama, Quattro Canti Square, Via Roma, and Via Liberta are among the places to be seen. Overnight at our hotel.
Day 5: Erice – Castellammare del Golfo – Palermo – Istanbul Airport
After breakfast, we complete our check-out procedures and, at the time determined by our guide, head to Erice, a typical medieval town with its walls, courtyard houses, and streets. During the free time we will have here, you will feel as if you have gone back to the Middle Ages. Then we proceed to Castellammare del Golfo. This small yet impressive town in Trapani stands out with its historical atmosphere and natural beauty. Its long coastline and the Aragonese Castle are among the places to be seen. After the tour, we go to Palermo Airport and, after passport and baggage procedures, depart for Istanbul at 19:15 on Turkish Airlines flight TK1374. Arrival at Istanbul Airport at 22:45 local time. End of our tour.
