Day 1 ISTANBUL – BAKU
We meet at Sabiha Gökçen Airport international departures terminal 3 hours before the flight (1 day before departure).
Day 2 BAKU
After baggage drop-off and check-in procedures, we take AJet Airlines’ scheduled flight to Baku. Upon arrival in Baku, the city of fire, we begin our city tour with our vehicle waiting for us. In Baku, where we will trace familiar memories, our first stop will be the Honorary Cemetery, where the graves of Azerbaijan’s literary figures, scientists, and artists are located. After viewing the magnificent Alev Towers from the “Highland Park,” where the best panoramic view of the city can be enjoyed, we visit the Martyrs’ Memorial built in memory of Turkish and Azerbaijani soldiers. With our guide’s information, we will see a different side of Baku by funicular. At the end of our short funicular tour, we will have free time on Baku Boulevard. Then we start exploring the Old City, the most interesting part of Baku, the pearl of the Caspian Sea, adorned with beautiful examples of stone craftsmanship. After visiting the Maiden Tower and the Shirvanshah Palace, listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, as well as the old mosques and baths and the Miniature Book Museum, we will walk through the historic cobblestone streets and have free time and shopping on Nizami Street.
Day 3 BAKU – GOBUSTAN NATIONAL PARK – MUD VOLCANOES – BIBI HEYBAT MOSQUE
After breakfast at the hotel, we begin our journey to the famous Gobustan National Park, located approximately 65 km southwest of Baku and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In this national park, famous for its impressive collection of rock carvings, also known as petroglyphs, dating back more than 20,000 years, we will gain valuable insight into the lives of ancient people through petroglyphs depicting hunting and fishing practices, religious beliefs, and artistic expressions. After this excursion, where we can see the world’s largest ancient cave inscriptions and more than 6,000 petroglyphs in an area of 537 hectares, we continue to the Mud Volcanoes area, located near Gobustan. In Azerbaijan, which is famous for its natural resources, there are more than 700 mud volcanoes. After our guide’s explanations and observing the live volcanic activity, we begin our return journey. On the way, we visit the Bibi Heybat Mosque, one of Azerbaijan’s most important spiritual sites, and after our visit, we tour the area carrying the same name, which has been transformed into a tourist spot where oil extraction takes place. Transfer to the hotel after the tour. Overnight at our hotel.
Day 4 BAKU – ABSHERON PENINSULA – ATESHGAH TEMPLE – HAYDAR ALIYEV CULTURAL CENTER
After breakfast at the hotel, we set out for our Absheron Peninsula tour. We visit the Ateshgah Temple, located approximately 30 km from the city center. Ateshgah, on the Absheron Peninsula and one of the three Zoroastrian temples in the world, is an architecturally distinctive structure that also incorporates Indian architectural elements, with the “Eternal Fire” (volcano) altar at its center. Among the places we will see are the rooms where Zoroastrians stayed while completing their pilgrimage and the sections where they worshiped. Afterwards, we head to see the Haydar Aliyev Cultural Center, which has become a symbol of Baku. Transfer to our hotel after the tour. Overnight at our hotel.
Day 5 BAKU – ISTANBUL
After breakfast at the hotel, check-out from the rooms and transfer to the airport. Flight to Istanbul on AJet Airlines’ scheduled services. With our arrival at Sabiha Gökçen Airport, our tour and services come to an end.
