Day 1 ISTANBUL – TUNIS – NABEUL – HAMMAMET We meet at Istanbul New Airport international departures terminal three hours before the flight. After baggage, ticket, and boarding procedures, our flight to Tunis begins on a Turkish Airlines scheduled service. Upon arrival at Tunis Airport, we transfer to our hotel with our private bus waiting for us at the airport. During the city tour, places to see include Bourguiba Boulevard, where you will feel as if you are in France; Saint Vincent de Paul Cathedral, founded in the 19th century; the statue of Ibn Khaldun, one of the famous Arab scholars of the Middle Ages; and the clock tower, considered one of Tunis’s symbols. Afterwards, we set off for our Nabeul tour. While wandering through the mystical streets of Nabeul, the capital of ceramics and pottery, we will see many Tunisian-specific items such as copperware, leather goods, embroidery, and cradles. Then we head to Hammamet, known as Tunisia’s “Saint-Tropez,” built on the seashore and offering magnificent views from its rooftop terraces. In Hammamet, among the places we will see are its long, clean beaches and crystal-blue sea, as well as magnificent parks, luxurious gardens, castle walls, streets, and the large mosque that has preserved the city’s deep-rooted history. After the tour, transfer to the hotel and free time for relaxation. Dinner and accommodation at our hotel. Day 2 HAMMAMET After breakfast at the hotel, free time. Guests who wish may join the optional Kairouan & El Jem & Monastir tour (80 Euro). We depart for Kairouan, where we will visit the Great Mosque of Okba Ibn Nefaa, considered the ancestor of all mosques in the Maghreb region and also one of the most important Islamic monuments. This structure, an architectural masterpiece, is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will also visit the Aghlabid Basins and finally the tomb of Sidi Sahbi. Then we head to El Jem. The amphitheater here is one of the best-preserved Roman ruins in the world. Built in the middle of the third century AD (AD 230–240), this monumental amphitheater is the largest remaining Roman monument in Africa and ranks third in the Empire after those in Rome and Verona. One of the last great amphitheaters built during the Roman period, its architectural design is an improved version of the Colosseum in Rome. After the tour, transfer back to our hotel and free time. Dinner and accommodation at our hotel. Day 3 HAMMAMET After breakfast at the hotel, free time. Guests who wish may join the optional Tunis & Carthage & Bardo Museum tour (80 Euro). We begin our tour by heading to discover the ancient city of Carthage. Founded by the Phoenicians and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in this ancient city we will explore 3,000-year-old Roman, Byzantine, and Crusader ruins in the footsteps of the famous Carthaginian commander Hannibal. Carthage, which contains a series of ancient structures and ruins, reflects its rich history with thermal baths, temples, and walls. The tour continues with a visit to the Bardo Museum. The museum has a vast collection of artifacts, with Roman mosaics being particularly remarkable. With their intricate designs and vivid colors, each mosaic tells a unique story from Tunisia’s diverse past. Then we head to Tunis’s historic Medina district. We tour the Medina of Tunis, also known as Old Tunis, with its narrow streets and bazaar full of souvenir shops. We will visit the famous souk called Souk El Attarine, located in the historic center of the capital, Tunis. “Souk” means “market” or “bazaar” in Arabic, and the term “El Attarine” means “perfumers” or “spice sellers.” Here you may shop as you wish. Afterwards, places to see include Place de la Kasbah (Historic Tunis Square) and the Zeytuna Mosque. After the tour, transfer to our hotel and free time. Dinner and accommodation at our hotel. Day 4 HAMMAMET – TUNIS – ISTANBUL After breakfast at the hotel, check-out from the rooms and free time until the transfer time announced by your guide. Guests who wish may join the optional Sidi Bou Said tour (35 Euro). We head to Sidi Bou Said, with its blue-and-white houses surrounded by the blue waters of the Mediterranean, narrow streets, and breathtaking views. You will wander through the enchanting streets of Sidi Bou Said, also known as Tunisia’s Santorini, and have the chance to take magnificent photos. After the tour, transfer to Tunis Airport at the time announced by our guide. After baggage, ticket, and boarding procedures, our flight to Istanbul begins on a Turkish Airlines scheduled service. After a comfortable and pleasant flight, arrival in Istanbul and the end of our tour.
