After ticket, baggage, and passport procedures, depart for Pristina at 07:50 on Turkish Airlines flight TK1017. Arrival in Pristina at 08:30. After passport, baggage, and customs procedures, we depart from the airport for a city tour of Pristina, the capital of Kosovo, a state whose vast majority is made up of Muslim Albanians and one of the world’s youngest countries. We will spend an emotionally charged day in former Ottoman lands where a human tragedy had very recently taken place. Among the places we will see panoramically are the Bazaar, the Bazaar Mosque built by Sultan Bayezid in the 15th century, and the clock tower built in the 19th century to remind the public of prayer times. After free time, we head to the Tomb of Murad I (Hüdavendigar), martyred by Obilić in the Battle of Kosovo, one of the greatest victories of the Ottoman Empire in the Balkans, near Pristina. After our visit, we take a short bus ride to Prizren. During our panoramic tour in Prizren, one of the most charming cities in the Balkans, we will see the Turkish Bath from the 17th century, Sinan Pasha Mosque built in 1615, and Prizren Castle. After the tour and free time, we cross into Albania and head to Shkodër. We see the charming Albanian city of Shkodër panoramically and transfer to our hotel. Overnight at the hotel. Our first stop is a break from where you can panoramic-ally see St. Stefan, once a fishing settlement, later expropriated and then sold to a Singaporean multimillionaire, and now a holiday destination for the jet set, depending on parking availability. We continue along roads with extraordinary views on the Adriatic coast, after seeing Budva panoramically. Our next stop is Kotor, an important historical and natural paradise and a tourist attraction. Here, during a walking tour in Stari Grad (Old Town-Castle), you will get to know this charming town. Upon arrival in Mostar, during our walking city tour we first see the Mostar Bridge. (The bridge, built in 1557 by architect Hayreddin, is a masterpiece of Ottoman architecture.) The bridge was destroyed by Croatian artillery in the war of 1992, but with major contributions from the Republic of Turkey it was reopened in 2004. We walk through the old town bazaar. After free time, we head to Blagaj, the land of the dervishes. After our Blagaj visit, we depart for the capital Sarajevo. Passing through Konjic, upon arrival in Sarajevo we begin our city tour. We walk through Baščaršija, one of Europe’s most exceptional bazaars. In this cultural city tour, we begin with the Sebilj Fountain, which has become almost a symbol of the bazaar, continue with Morica Han, one of the city’s most authentic spots, and then visit Gazi Husrev Bey Mosque, a relative of Sultan Süleyman the Magnificent. We continue with the Clock Tower, the famous fountain that has become a ritual, and the place where cultures meet, which is also where the symbolic Eternal Flame monument is located, then proceed to free time. Those who wish may photograph the Latin Bridge, where World War I began, during free time. After the tour and free time, transfer to our hotel. Overnight at the hotel. After our journey, we begin our city tour of Belgrade, one of the oldest cities in Europe and the new symbol of vitality and movement, starting with Knez Mihailova Street, the city’s most elegant avenue. Then we go to Belgrade Fortress, one of the Ottoman navy’s supply centers, where Fatih Sultan Mehmed was wounded in battle but its conquest was achieved under Suleiman the Magnificent. Inside the fortress we will see the Victory Monument, the French monument, Istanbul Gate, Military Museum, Damat Ali Pasha Tomb, Sokollu Fountain, and the terrace area where we will see the most beautiful view of the confluence of the Danube and Sava rivers. Those who wish may join the Danube and Sava river boat activity organized by our guide (20 EUR). After the tour we proceed to free time. Overnight at our hotel in Belgrade. We begin our city tour of this city, where two different cultures are separated by the famous Vardar River, with the Macedonian side, which can be described as the land of statues. Among the first statues we will see is the Great Alexander statue, notable for its enormous size. Then, crossing the historic Stone Bridge over the Vardar River, we witness how the culture changes all at once and enter Skopje’s Turkish Bazaar, one of the finest bazaars of the Ottomans in the Balkans. We begin our bazaar tour by talking about the statues at the entrance and the historic Davut Pasha Bath, continue with Kapan Han, one of the most important structures of the Ottoman bazaar organization, and Murat Pasha Mosque, which has survived despite earthquakes, and end our tour. After the visits, one hour of free time will be given for shopping in the Turkish Bazaar. Among the things you can buy are Šuska peppers, Ustrumca peanuts, and traditional clogs. After our nature walk, those who wish may join the canyon boat tour during free time with the famous rowboats. Then we visit the famous Painted Mosque in Tetovo (Kalkandelen), a town with a rare architecture in the Balkans. Continuing over the Mavrovo Mountains, we arrive in Ohrid, a Mediterranean-like town in the Balkans. We begin our Ohrid city tour with the harbor square. After talking about the statues we see there, we walk in the historic Ohrid houses district, where the TV series Elveda Rumeli was filmed, and see the historic Ottoman houses, the Church of St. Sophia, and end with a presentation of the famous Ohrid Pearl, the biggest symbol of the city. Those who wish may join the Ohrid Lake boat activity organized by our guide (15 EUR). After the tour we proceed to free time. After free time, transfer to our hotel. Overnight at the hotel. We see the palace of Niyazi of Resen, one of the most famous three figures of the Committee of Union and Progress and renowned for his contributions in the Turkish-Greek War, and then arrive in Bitola. During our city tour of Monastir (Bitola), we visit the Turkish Bazaar, the Bedesten, Ishak Mosque, Yeni Mosque, Haydar Kadi Mosque, and the Military High School where Atatürk graduated and the Atatürk Museum, where you will experience the most emotional moments of the trip. Need to Know
INFORMATION - To make purchases and expenses in all countries included in the tour, it is sufficient to have Euros with us. In regions where local currency is used, the guide will assist with currency exchange. - During the trip, comfortable walking shoes or sports shoes should be preferred. It is advisable to bring a cardigan or similar clothing for the evening. - On our tours, seat rotation is applied daily in the vehicle seating arrangement; fixed seats and front-seat guarantees are not provided. Seat changes are organized by the tour guide. - When entering Turkey from abroad, there must be at least a 3-day stay in order to bring items such as alcohol, cigarettes, etc. - Duty-free shopping limits when entering Turkey from abroad: Cigarettes: 3 cartons, Alcoholic beverages: 1 liter of alcoholic beverages (excluding alcoholic drinks containing more than 22% alcohol, wine and champagne), Alcoholic beverages: 2 liters of alcoholic beverages (including alcoholic drinks containing less than 22% alcohol, wine and champagne), Perfume: 600 ml, Makeup or skincare products: 5 items, Chocolate and confectionery: 2 kg, Coffee: 1 kg, Tea: 1 kg. - Guides may make changes to the program flow depending on weather and road conditions, provided that all places specified in the program are shown. - Guests who register for the tour have the right to cancel free of charge up to 30 days before the tour date. If there are less than 30 days until the tour date, a 30% penalty applies; if there are 20 days or less, a 100% penalty applies. Documents submitted with the cancellation request, such as hospital reports or workplace permission letters obtained from authorities in Turkey, are unfortunately not accepted for the cancellation of hotel and services to be used outside Turkey. - Our tour program is organized with a minimum participation of 25 people. If sufficient participation is not achieved, the latest cancellation notice date is 20 days before the tour departure. The cancellation of the tour due to insufficient participation will be notified by Viyatravel. - Where hotel names are not specified and only category information is given in the tour program, and/or where alternative options exist for the same destination, the hotel(s) will be announced by Viyatravel 2 days before departure. - During periods such as fairs, congresses, concerts, events, sports tournaments, etc., hotels may be used farther than the stated distances. In such a case, Viyatravel will provide information 15 days before the tour departure date. - Triple rooms are subject to hotel availability, and in such rooms the bed assigned to the third person is smaller than standard beds. Triple rooms consist of 1 large bed + 1 extra bed. Since extra beds are folding beds or coach beds, passengers making 3-person and/or child reservations are deemed to have accepted the possible cramped conditions in the room and the bed type. Child discounts are valid only for one child in the relevant age group staying with 2 adults. - Breakfasts included in the tour program are served according to the breakfast culture of the country visited and are generally presented as a limited menu known as continental breakfast, consisting of butter, jam, bread, tea or coffee, and may be served in a separate hall allocated to the group. - Panoramic city tours included in the tour package are tours lasting at most 2-3 hours, organized for the general introduction of the cities and conducted panoramically from the vehicle with guide commentary, excluding museum and site entrance fees. Viyatravel is not responsible if panoramic tours, including other tours stated in the program, cannot take place because the relevant area is not permitted to be visited or entered by local authorities at the day and time of the tour, due to closed roads because of an event, or because weather conditions make the tour impossible. Some tours may be carried out by public transport or on foot where roads are closed or vehicle access is not permitted, if possible. - Waiting times at customs gates crossed by road during the journey may exceed standard times; Viyatravel cannot be held responsible for any adverse effects caused by these waiting times. - Extra tours are organized by the local service provider we work with, subject to a minimum participation of 20 people. If the required number is not reached, the excursions cannot be carried out, or the prices, content, and vehicles used for extra tours may change depending on the number of participants. In addition, the days and times of the tours may be changed by the guide according to the opening/closing status of the museums and sites to be visited and weather conditions. - Extra tours are optional and not mandatory. Passengers who do not wish to join the extra tours arranged during the trip are deemed to have accepted waiting at a suitable rest stop along the route. These passengers will be dropped off at a roadside rest stop before the extra tour begins and picked up from that point after the tour is completed. - For those participating in tours by plane, check-in and boarding procedures are personal responsibilities and must be completed by the guest before the flight at the relevant airline counters at the airport or online on the airline company’s website. - Viyatravel is an intermediary between the airline and the passenger and is subject to the Hague Protocol of 28.09.1955. There may be a risk of delay on scheduled and special flights, or times may change before the current trip and flight. Viyatravel is obliged to notify these changes as soon as possible. The passenger has purchased the trip accepting the risk of schedule changes.
