After breakfast at the hotel, we visit Plovdiv, Bulgaria’s second-largest city, which has made significant contributions to Islamic-Turkish culture throughout its long history. The city has been continuously inhabited for over 4000 years. It combines stunning modern and ancient architecture. The most interesting part is the Old Town called "Ancient Plovdiv," located on Nebet Tepe. We will observe traces left by Byzantine, Greek, and Ottoman civilizations, visit shopping centers, and see the protected old district. The lively shopping and entertainment street, called Batenberg Alley, will be explored. We also see Argır Kuyumcuoğlu's house (turned into an ethnography museum), the most perfect symmetrical house in Plovdiv, Balabanov House (originally decorated and currently hosting various cultural activities), and Georgi Mavridi’s house. The ancient Roman theater, an impressive site from the Roman era, will also be visited. Other notable sights include Djumaya Mosque, an old structure with distinct Turkish architecture, and the oldest churches in Plovdiv—Aya Konstantin, Elena, and Aya Nedelya. After free time for shopping and exploring the city at leisure, we pass through Haskova, a city with a significant minority Turkish population, with a panoramic view from within, then head back to Turkey.
In the evening, at the border, we complete the customs procedures at both the Bulgarian and Turkish borders, including shopping at duty-free shops, and enter Turkey. We proceed via Corlu to Istanbul, where we arrive late at night. After dropping off guests at their departure points, we conclude the tour.
