We will continue our tour with the Moscow Metro. Started by Stalin in 1931, the Moscow Metro is considered by everyone to be the most beautiful metro in the world in terms of interior architecture and decoration, although it is often compared in size to the metros of New York, Paris, or London. Arbat Street, which runs through the center of Moscow, is a pedestrian street that everyone who visits the city stops by at least once and enjoys walking from one end to the other. Here you can browse the colorful shop windows, taste the finest examples of Russian and world cuisine, sit in elegant cafés that would not look out of place in Paris, and most pleasantly, sit on a bench and watch the Russians who are carried away by the flow of life. If you want a souvenir from Moscow, this street is the right place. Afterwards, we will continue our tour with Nazım Hikmet’s grave. We will depart from our hotel for a visit to Novodevichy Monastery, where Nazım Hikmet is also buried. Novodevichy, one of Russia’s most important monasteries, was founded in 1524 and over time became the place where many would-be tsarinas lost their star. Although Napoleon ordered its destruction in 1812, the nuns managed to prevent this decision. As part of the visit, we will go inside the monastery and visit Nazım Hikmet’s grave. After the tour, transfer to our hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
