After luggage and ticket processing, we depart for Bari by Turkish Airlines scheduled flight. Arrival in Bari according to local time. Together with our waiting private vehicle and guide, we start our city tour in Bari. During the tour, places of interest include Basilica Di San Nicola, the port, and Bari Cathedral. After the tour, we head to our hotel for check-in and free time. For guests who wish, we will proceed with an additional Matera tour (€75). We arrive at Matera, the 2019 European Capital of Culture, located in the Basilicata region of southern Italy and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This city, known as "Sassi di Matera", means "the stones of Matera" and was created by carving caves and tuff rocks on both sides of the Gravina Canyon valley. Being an ancient city, its living conditions and appearance have attracted Hollywood filmmakers. Thus, films such as Pasolini's "The Gospel According to St. Matthew", Ferrara's "Mary", Beresford's "King David", Hardwicke's "The Nativity Story", and Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" have been shot here. It has also hosted Ferzan Özpetek's films. After our tour with the guide, we head to our hotel. Overnight at the hotel. 2nd DAY Bari (Puglia Triangle Tour) After breakfast at the hotel, a free day awaits you. Guests who wish can participate in the extra tour known as the Puglia Triangle (Alberobello & Castellana Grotte & Polignano a mare) for €145. We first move to Alberobello. Alberobello, which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1995, will create a fairytale effect with its uniquely shaped white houses and roofs. The trulli houses are built without mortar, using stones stacked on top of each other. During the reign of the King, the residents built their houses this way after the royal tax increase, and when the royal officials came for inspection, they would pull a rope inside to collapse the conical roof. We continue our tour with the Castellana Caves, the oldest cave in the world. The cave system is made of limestone and rocks known as Altamura limestone. The length of the cave system reaches 3348 meters, and its depth is 122 meters. Our last stop is the coastal city of Polignano a Mare. As we reach the beach through the narrow streets of the town, high cliffs, white houses on them, and a deep blue bay greet us. After sightseeing and a swimming break, we return to our hotel. Overnight at the hotel. 3rd DAY Bari (Puglia Treasures Tour) After breakfast, it will be a free day. For guests who wish, we go on an additional Puglia Treasures (Martina Franca – Ostuni - Monopoli) tour for €145. If you love discovering hidden and lesser-known but rich and surprising places, Martina Franca is just for you. The city, which boasts a perfect combination of art, history, and natural beauty among its centuries-old olive trees, will dazzle you with its Baroque architecture. The Palazzo Ducale, San Martino Church, and St. Anthony Church will be among the places to visit during our tour. Afterwards, we head to Ostuni. Ostuni is a charming Italian town with a small population of 32,000, where tourism constitutes a large portion of its income, thanks to its 8 km long coastline, olive and grape trees. During our tour, we will have the opportunity to see many intriguing details such as white architectural examples of Mediterranean architecture, narrow streets, arched passages, spiral staircases, and more. Our final stop will be the historic city of Monopoli, one of the most beautiful cities in the Puglia region, located by the Adriatic Sea. During our visit, we will see Piazza Settembre, the colorful permanent market, Monopoli Cathedral, and its bell tower located in the heart of the city's historical center. After our tour, we return to our hotel.
