1. Day Istanbul – Tunis Meeting 3 hours before the flight at the Turkish Airlines counter in the international departures terminal of Istanbul Airport. After baggage, ticket, and passport procedures, departure for Tunis at 09:00 with Turkish Airlines flight TK661. After arrival in Tunis at 10:00 local time, our city tour begins with the vehicle waiting for us at the airport. Habib Bourguiba Boulevard, referred to as the “Champs-Élysées Boulevard” of Tunis, Independence Square, the Clock Tower, which has become one of the city’s symbols, and St. Vincent de Paul Cathedral, the largest structure in Tunis dating from the colonial period to the present, are among the places to see. After the tour, transfer to our hotel in the Hammamet region and free time. Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel in the Hammamet region. 2. Day Tunis After breakfast at the hotel, we join the tour titled The Historical Traces of Magnificent Tunis (Tunis & Carthage & Sidi Bou Said & Bardo Museum). Our tour begins with Tunis. In this city, which is not only the capital of the country but also its political, commercial, and cultural center, we will have the opportunity to witness the blended modern and old Tunis. Then we head to Carthage, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and was founded by the Phoenicians and for a time was one of the centers of the Roman Empire in Africa. After the lunch break here, we move on to Sidi Bou Said, the pearl of Tunisia. In this charming town, famous for its cobblestone streets and blue-white houses, we will take a photo break accompanied by a Mediterranean view, and then our last stop will be the Bardo Museum, one of the most important museums in the Mediterranean region. The museum houses a rich marble collection featuring Roman gods and emperors, as well as the world’s largest collection of Roman mosaics. After the tour, transfer to our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel in the Hammamet region. 3. Day Tunis After breakfast at the hotel, we join the tour titled Magnificent Ancient Cities (Kairouan & El Djem & Sousse). Our tour begins with Kairouan, the sacred city that is considered one of the finest examples of Islamic architecture in the region and home to the Great Mosque, and which ranks fourth in Islam after Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem as a place of pilgrimage. Then in El Djem we will see the impressive ruins of North Africa’s largest colosseum. After seeing this remarkable structure, where 35,000 spectators once filled the stands to watch gladiator fights during the region’s most prosperous period, we continue to Sousse, the country’s third-largest city and one of its tourism centers. In this city, famous for its magnificent view, its markets in the labyrinth-like medina in the city center, and its fortifications, we will have a lunch break before heading back to our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel in the Hammamet region. 4. Day Tunis – Istanbul After breakfast at the hotel, we complete our check-out procedures. Then, at the time indicated by our guide, we depart for the airport. After baggage and ticket procedures, departure for Istanbul at 18:20 with Turkish Airlines flight TK664. Arrival at 23:15 local time and the end of our tour.
