1ST DAY: ISTANBUL – CAPE TOWN | Intercontinental Journey and First Encounter Our Africa dream with Turizm begins with our meeting at 22:00 at the International Departures Terminal of Istanbul Airport. After midnight, we take off at 01:50 on Turkish Airlines’ comfortable TK 044 flight to Cape Town, the jewel of South Africa. During this comfortable journey lasting approximately 11 hours, we rest above the clouds while feeling the excitement of getting to know Africa’s unique nature. Upon our arrival in Cape Town at 11:45, we transfer to the city center by private vehicle and check into our hotel. After a short rest, on our panoramic city tour we discover the Parliament Building, the heart of South African politics; Company Gardens, a heritage from the 17th century; and Castle of Good Hope, bearing military traces of the Dutch colonial era. Adderley Street and Bo-Kaap District, with its colorful houses, will be among the most photogenic stops of our tour. Our first stop is Hout Bay, a charming fishing village surrounded by mountains. Then we continue along Chapman’s Peak Drive, considered one of the world’s most impressive coastal roads, where steep cliffs embrace the ocean. When we reach Cape of Good Hope, one of the highlights of the tour, we witness the meeting of the powerful waters of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. After ascending to Cape Point Lighthouse by funicular and viewing this unique landscape from above, we visit the colony of adorable African penguins at Boulders Beach on the return route. We enjoy the day with free time among Stellenbosch’s streets adorned with Cape Dutch architecture, art galleries, and boutique shops. In this village, we have the opportunity to closely learn about the traditional lifestyles, architectural structures, and daily habits of the Zulu, Xhosa, Pedi, Basotho, and Ndebele tribes. After visiting the tribal homes and listening to their stories, we watch magnificent dance performances presented with traditional costumes and rhythmic African melodies. Known by the local people as "Mosi-oa-Tunya," meaning "The Roaring Smoke," this massive body of water welcomes us with its 1.7 km width and 128-meter height. Among the giant clouds of mist and rainbows created by this UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s seven natural wonders, we witness the power of nature. After lunch on the banks of the Chobe River, we embark on a boat safari to observe wildlife from the water. After photographing hippos, crocodiles, and wildlife coming to the riverbank to drink along the river, we return to Zimbabwe at the end of the day.
