Also, until the late 15th century, Toledo was the center of Judaism on the Iberian Peninsula, hosting significant structures including Europe’s oldest standing synagogue, dozens of churches converted from mosques, and the magnificent cathedral that dominated religious life in Spain. The city, which was a political, cultural, commercial, and military center until the empire moved its capital to Madrid in 1561, inspired Cervantes’ immortal work, Don Quixote of La Mancha, with much of its story taking place in and around this city, thus being placed on UNESCO's World Heritage list for these reasons. Among the places we will see during our tour are; the famous viewpoint that provides the magnificent image of the city from the 16th century like a painting, the San Martin Bridge, the San Juan Monastery, the Jewish Quarter, the Santo Tome Church, the Santa Maria Cathedral Square, the shopping street where you can find all things unique to the city, and the central Zocodover Square. Granada was a Muslim city during the Middle Ages and is protected by a magnificent fortress known as the Alhambra, located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The Alhambra Palace, due to its position and the 37 towers accompanying its high walls, dominated the skies of Granada. Construction took over 150 years. However, what makes the Alhambra the most visited place in Spain is more than just being a well-fortified military refuge. With its elegant courtyards, a palace where pleasure was experienced, deadly intrigues, and at the same time the greatest and most beautiful example of Islamic architecture in the West, the Alhambra appears as a fairy tale palace that Sultan 12. Muhammad (Boabdil) unexpectedly gave to Queen Isabel. That same year, it was announced as the main palace of the Spanish monarchy, and the royal decisions that started Christopher Columbus' voyages were made here. All the stories known today about the palace were compiled by the famous writer Washington Irving, titled Alhambra Stories. During our tour of the Alhambra Palace, we will explore the gardens of Cennet-ül Arif, the Summer Palace, and the Alcazaba Fortress. An unforgettable journey filled with memories and stories awaits you. After our visit, we will return to our hotel and proceed to complete checkout procedures, heading towards Valencia. This area is historically rich due to surviving artifacts from the numerous invasions and rules throughout history. All structures have been built from stone and are well-preserved, perfectly reflecting the spirit of the past. With its museums, churches, cobbled narrow streets, and medieval walls, it is a favorite among tourists. The Lion Statue, Cathedral Square, and Jewish Quarter are among the places to be seen.
